Terri brings over 30 years of healthcare experience to her role at Healthtech. She’s an expert in guiding healthcare organizations through successful patient safety and clinician adoption initiatives. Terri also has significant experience in clinical systems assessment, planning, and implementation, along with CPOE and electronic medication management.

Her success as a clinical healthcare consultant comes from her decades of clinical practice, both on the front lines and in management. Terri has spoken internationally on Electronic Clinical Documentation best practices and is known as an industry leader in advanced clinical system planning and implementation. Terri joined Healthtech in 2002.

Elizabeth brings over 30 years of health sector experience to our clients. As a leader in clinical practice, electronic documentation, change management, and adoption, she delivers vertically and horizontally integrated solutions. Elizabeth is a proven team leader, with significant consulting experience in project and vendor management, governance, consensus building, assessment, process redesign and clinical adoption. She is also highly skilled in point-of-care solutions and wireless networks. Elizabeth has worked with a wide variety of regional and provincial health organizations across Canada.

Bill brings over 20 years of healthcare IM/IT experience to his role, helping clients develop innovative strategies to break down traditional information silos. He has deep expertise in strategic and tactical planning, stakeholder engagement, and change management. Bill’s also an expert on Healthcare Clinical Information Systems (HCIS) options analysis and planning – leading organizations to HIMSS Level 6 & 7 achievements. He has extensive experience with all of the major HCIS vendors in Canada and has been involved in and/or advised in dozens of implementations.

Bill’s strong strategic planning skills coupled with real world implementation experience lead to realistic planning and delivery that focuses on meeting measurable goals and objectives.

Alison MacDonald

Vice President

Alison is a Masters-prepared nurse with 15 years of leadership experience in informatics and professional practice. As a Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS-CA) and Prosci certified change management professional, she has completed several strategic planning, tactical planning, and implementation projects, serving in the clinical subject matter expert and project lead roles. Alison also has extensive experience supporting implementations of large-scale clinical information systems.

Alison’s worked across the various health care settings in Canada including home and community care, acute care, and tertiary settings.

Tony Suttis is a senior healthcare management professional specializing in information systems and financial management. For over 30 years, Tony has played key leadership roles in healthcare systems across Canada and the U.S., in both single hospital and integrated regional organizations. He’s served as IT Director, Vice President Finance and Information Management, Consultant, and most recently as Senior Director in a provincial eHealth organization. As Vice President at Healthtech, Tony is well-positioned to provide strong leadership, helping our clients manage large projects while seeing the big picture.

Laura Copeland, MD, MBD, FACEP

Chief Medical Information Officer

Dr. Laura Copeland is an Emergency Physician practicing Medical Psychotherapy, as well as a medical informatics specialist. She has 15 years of experience planning and implementing electronic health records, while advocating for and supporting the adoption of technology in healthcare. Dr. Copeland assumed key leadership roles in many complex hospital-based health information systems, including the Cleveland Clinic Emergency Department and Humber River Hospital, which is North America’s first fully digital hospital.

Dr. Copeland is a proven leader in clinical standardization, multidisciplinary teamwork, medication management, computerized provider order entry, order sets development, medical documentation, change leadership, and data governance. As an emergency physician and medical psychotherapist, she applies her extensive clinical practice experience to inspire change within organizations.
